Mains: The duration of the course is one year and generally spreads from Jan to Dec. During this period the syllabus for both the optionals is covered along with answer writing to questions that have appeared in UPSC in the last 10 years.

This helps the candidate get a good grasp of the subject. The emphasis is on preparing the candidate for the mains primarily which is the real test of the candidates ability in writing answers of quality and content.

Prelims: The duration of course is from March to June and involves a series of test in both GS paper and test on current affairs.Towards the end of the course there are 10 full length mock papers on the pattern of the UPSC. This gives a fair idea to the candidate regarding the likely score in the UPSC.
